CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Yoga Basics
These classes offer a strong emphasis on foundation integrated with demonstration of form and alignment to create a safe, positive and empowering experience.  Ideal for the beginner as well as the experienced practitioner wishing to review technical principles.

Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the 'physical practice' that all schools of yoga (Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara, etc.) fall under. In Sanskrit, 'Ha'= sun, 'Tha' = moon and 'Yoga' = to yoke/join.  Hatha Yoga joins the opposite energies represented by the sun and moon through asanas (physical poses), breath control (pranayama) and meditation.  Hatha Yoga classes are designed to increase strength and flexibility while balancing the body and mind.

Vinyasa Yoga
Sweat, breathe, go with the flow!  This fun, flowing class combines postures and sequences from various styles of yoga.  With a dynamic flowing sequence of yoga postures linking breath and movement, you’ll cultivate awareness while building core strength and flexibility.  Learn ujjayi pranayama breathwork, bandhas (energetic locks to help access core strength), drishti (gazing points), and vinyasa (sequencing breath with movement) to help the mind and nervous system achieve balance. Alignment of Flow, Slow Flow, Vinyasa Flow, Intro to Flow, and Tibetan Heart Yoga are all Vinyasa Yoga classes.

Alignment of Flow
Fine-Tuning your Vinyasa.  Focus on alignment, making your practice safer while you gain greater access to more challenging poses.  More focus on inner Alignment, gaining greater access to your true Self.

Hot Power Flow
This is a great way to detoxify your organs and body, while enjoying a vigorous core building workout. Be prepared to sweat, laugh, and be enlightened through an up-beat freestryle yoga.

Slow Flow

V
inyasa, but not in the traditional sense.  Work into poses and hold for some time with vinyasa between them.  This class is challenging yet deeply profound.  It allows experienced students to go deeper into poses and breath, while giving newer students a chance to keep up. Slow down your vinyasa and savor the experience.

Vinyasa Flow
A flowing, dynamic form of yoga, where postures are linked together using breath.

Tibetan Heart Yoga
Meditations to cultivate compassion and wisdom complete the practices of asana and the breath. THY is most suitable for those somewhat familiar with basic poses, as primary attention is given to the focus of the mind.  This practice is a re-unification of the wisdom lineages of Tibet and the asana lineages of India.  Open your heart, free your spirit!
